New Year's Eve is always a time of celebration with friends and family. It's also an evening where there will be more drivers on the roads who have been drinking. Here are 3 tips for staying safe:
- Go out to Dinner Early in the evening to avoid driving later at night. You can avoid many of the drivers that have been drinking and enjoy your evening with friends and family.
- Skip the Alcohol. Make the decision not to drink this evening so that you can drive your family or friends safely to festivities you have planned. Being responsible can go a long way to protect yourself and your loved ones. Police are on the lookout for drunk or buzzed drivers and if you are pulled over it may cost you up to $10,000 in fines, legal fees, insurance increases, time off work, etc. Most importantly, you don't want to risk hurting others by drinking and driving.
- Stay Home. One of the most fun New Year's Eve events you could have is a party with your family. You can have all the traditional party elements: food, party favors, games, movies and delicious and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone.
Be smart, stay safe and have a Happy New Year's Eve!
