What is the Iowa Workers' Compensation Act?

The Iowa Workers' Compensation Act is part of the Iowa Code and intended to provide benefits to workers who incur a work-related injury. Under the Iowa Workers' Compensation Act the worker does not have to prove that the employer was at fault. Furthermore, the employer cannot blame the worker for the injury due to negligence. Benefits are payable regardless of fault. This act of law requires most employers to pay for wage loss and medical benefits to workers injured on the job.
