Iowa’s Original Capital
Did you know that Burlington is Iowa’s original capital? That’s right! Back in the 1800s, when the state was still a territory and hadn’t yet joined the Union, Burlington had the honor of becoming Iowa’s very first capital city. It didn’t last long, however —the state moved its capital to Iowa City a few months later, and eventually the honor shifted to Des Moines, where the State Capitol still stands today.
As a Burlington Workers’ Compensation attorney office, we’re proud to serve in Iowa’s original capital, and it’s in that spirit that we make our services available to residents throughout the entire state.
