At Pothitakis Law Firm P.C., we’ve spent the last twenty years helping the hardworking people of Mt. Pleasant fight for justice in the wake of unexpected injuries or unfair treatment by the state commission or their employers. As a Workers’ Compensation law firm, it’s our mission to take up the cause of unfairly injured Iowans throughout Henry County and all across Hawkeye State.
Our Burlington office is less than 30 miles from Mt. Pleasant, and that allows us to work very closely with our clients there. We understand the town’s economy, its industry, its employers, and — most importantly — its people. We’re invested in their lives, and it’s our mission to help them in their times of need.
Whether it’s an Iowa Workers’ Compensation case, the Old Thresher’s Reunion, or even just a scenic weekend getaway, we know that any reason to touch base is a welcome one.
As an experienced Iowa personal injury attorney, Niko Pothitakis wants you to know that our legal services are here for you. Whether you’re ready for legal representation or just need help understanding your rights under the law, we hope you’ll give us a call or even stop by Burlington and say hello. We’re here to help.
The Old Thresher’s Reunion in Mt. Pleasant, IA
What happens with a small town’s population suddenly grows about thirteen times larger in one weekend? Well, in the case of the Old Thresher’s Reunion, the answer is commerce, learning, and a lot of fun.
Every fall, Mt. Pleasant hosts the Old Thresher’s Reunion, an agricultural event that attracts over 100,000 visitors from all over the world. It’s a huge boon to the area’s businesses, which often staff additional workers and bring in considerable sales for their products and services, many of which are wonderful and utterly rare. It’s a real source of lifeblood for the Mt. Pleasant community.
The event brings in big names like Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, and LeAnn Rimes, among many others. It just goes to show that small towns can enjoy big spotlights from time to time.
Occasionally, workers or guests sustain accidental injuries during big events like these, and we always want those people to know that, in the event of unforeseen hardship, they can count on our Mt. Pleasant workers’ compensation attorney services. Of course, the vast majority of those 100,000+ people return home with nothing but new insight and meaningful memories. It’s a wonderful event, and we’re proud to have it so close to our home in Burlington.
We also like to remind people that Old Thresher’s fun isn’t limited to the autumn months. The Mt. Pleasant Heritage Museum, which features prominently in the Reunion, is actually open to the public during most of the year. It’s an enjoyable and affordable activity for families and history fans alike.
